Job description

Role overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver, you will be one of the company’s main points of contact on the road, delivering shopping directly to customers’ homes and representing the store with friendly, reliable service. The role goes beyond driving: it involves customer care, careful handling of goods, and working across a varied, active day where each shift can look different. You will spend much of your time working independently, while still having access to support from managers and colleagues at the base when needed.

Availability window

You should be available during the following times:

  • Sunday: 18:00 to 23:00
  • Monday: 12:00 to 22:00
  • Tuesday: 18:00 to 22:00
  • Wednesday: 18:00 to 22:00
  • Saturday: 09:00 to 22:00

Pay and hours

Hourly pay begins at £14.18, with a higher starting rate of £15.45 in stores located within the M25. Some locations may also include extra payments. The business guarantees at least 16 hours per week, although positions from 12 hours per week are also available.

What you will do

  • Keep the van, trays, and work area clean, well arranged, and presentable so that every order reaches the customer in good condition.
  • Load the vehicle safely and complete the required checks so it is ready, compliant, and dependable for deliveries.
  • Discuss substitutions, order changes, and short-dated products with customers in a calm and helpful manner, and process refunds where appropriate.
  • Handle every item carefully and deliver each order with the same attention you would give to your own shopping.
  • Arrive within the customer’s booked time slot and provide a friendly, professional handover at the doorstep.

What you need

  • Ability to work closely with colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • A warm, approachable, and welcoming manner with both customers and coworkers.
  • Comfort with change and the ability to respond quickly to shifting needs while working in the store and on the road.
  • A valid UK, EU, or EEA driving licence, either full or automatic, held for at least 12 months.
  • No more than 3 penalty points on the driving licence.

Benefits

  • Holiday entitlement starting at 20 days plus one personal day, increasing to 22 days after 12 months, along with Bank Holidays.
  • Flexible working options available from the first day.
  • 10% colleague discount, increasing to 15% on pay-day weekends, plus an additional card that can be shared with family.
  • Access to free wellbeing support for mental, physical, and overall life balance.
  • Life cover worth five times your pay and an award-winning pension with employer matching contributions of up to 7.5%.
  • Additional benefits such as discounts, share options, and cycle-to-work schemes.
  • Uniform provided, along with policies designed to support employees through important life events.
