About the role
Tesco is looking for Customer Delivery Drivers to join the Naas Extra team. In this role, you are the first point of contact for customers and play a key part in delivering a great home shopping experience. The job is active, physically demanding, and varied, with each shift bringing different customer needs. While you work independently on the road for much of the day, you will still have support from managers and colleagues at base whenever needed.
Shift pattern: Various shifts available.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a high-quality home shopping service by keeping the customer at the centre of every delivery.
- Load the van when needed and ensure the vehicle is roadworthy before setting off.
- Follow the route and schedule provided for your deliveries.
- Wear the correct uniform and present yourself ready to assist customers.
- Drive in a safe, responsible, and lawful manner at all times.
- Show courtesy and consideration to all road users.
- Greet customers warmly and, where appropriate, address them by name.
- Handle each delivery with care, as though it were your own.
Requirements
- A full Irish or EU driving licence, either manual or automatic, held for at least 2 years.
- No more than 3 penalty points on the driving licence.
- A safe, respectful, and responsible approach to driving.
- A genuine interest in helping others.
- A friendly manner, good humour, and strong communication skills.
- The confidence to take initiative and use practical judgement.
- A customer-first mindset with care for both customers and colleagues.
- The ability to stay composed under pressure.
- Successful candidates must pass Garda Vetting as part of the hiring process.
- Proof of current penalty points on the driving licence will be required at assessment stage and may be requested from the National Driver Licence Services (NDLS) by calling 1890 41 61 41, choosing Option 4, and quoting the driver number.
- Applicants who have been disqualified from driving within the last 10 years cannot be considered.
- If selected, bank account details must be provided before the agreed start date as a condition of the offer.
