Job description

About the Role

This position is for a customs and export operations specialist supporting sea freight activities in Singapore. The role focuses on preparing trade paperwork, ensuring regulatory compliance, coordinating clearance, and keeping shipment data accurate across internal systems. The job is based in Tampines and offers a salary of up to $5,000.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and process export paperwork, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates, permits, and declarations.
  • Check that all documentation follows Singapore customs rules and international trade requirements.
  • Review shipment files carefully to confirm completeness and accuracy before they are submitted.
  • Support the export customs clearance workflow from start to finish.
  • Track shipment schedules and coordinate export declarations, customs clearance, and delivery arrangements.
  • Work closely with freight forwarders, customs brokers, warehouses, and internal teams to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Follow up on shipments and take action on delays, mismatches, or other operational issues.
  • Keep shipment records and customer details updated in internal systems.
  • Maintain clean, complete, and accurate customs and logistics data.
  • Assist with system updates, document uploads, and other data management tasks.
  • Comply with trade control policies and all applicable Singapore customs requirements.
  • Support audits, document reviews, and compliance checks.
  • Look for opportunities to improve processes and increase operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • A diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a similar discipline.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in customs operations, export documentation, logistics, or international trade.
  • Good understanding of export declaration procedures and customs documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore customs regulations, HS codes, and trade compliance is essential.
  • Hands-on experience using ERP or SAP systems.
  • Comfortable working with Microsoft Office tools.
