Job description
Position Overview
The State of Missouri is seeking a Custodian for the Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled (MSSD) who will be responsible for maintaining clean and safe indoor and outdoor environments. This role involves routine custodial operations, grounds upkeep, and upkeep of related equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety within the facilities.
- Perform regular maintenance and care for custodial tools and groundskeeping equipment.
- Maintain an accurate stock inventory of cleaning supplies and notify administration when replenishing is needed.
- Adhere and comply with the Asbestos Hazards Emergency Response Act protocols in daily custodial activities.
- Follow safety guidelines dictated by Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all chemicals utilized.
- Manage grounds maintenance including lawn mowing and snow removal as necessary.
- Develop and implement cleaning and maintenance schedules prioritizing daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
- Provide training to fellow custodial staff on proper use of equipment and cleaning agents.
- Respect confidentiality regarding parent, student, and personally identifiable information.
- Maintain active CPR certification aligned with American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support Health Care Provider standards.
- Engage in ongoing staff development to refresh and enhance custodial expertise.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or G.E.D.
- At least two years of experience in custodial services; however, alternative qualifications assessed by the Commissioner of Education may be accepted.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position falls between $19,008 and $36,408 annually. It is important to note that this is the base salary range; additional increments for years of service or shift differentials may apply.
