Job description
Role overview
This position supports the 2-Hour Learning model used by Alpha Anywhere, where students complete a full academic day in just two hours and then spend the rest of the day exploring interests such as podcasting, art, and gymnastics. In this role, you will help keep that model effective while also contributing to its continued improvement.
Working from any location with dependable internet, you will turn large sets of AI-produced student performance data into clear, timely actions that help learners move toward 90% mastery and beyond. When a student runs into difficulty, you will step in with live coaching, clear the blocker quickly, and help rebuild confidence and momentum. You will also study detailed performance streams, look for hidden patterns, and help shape future AI systems that can further increase learning speed.
Your work will directly affect student confidence and progress, as well as the quality of the AI-driven learning experience.
Key responsibilities
- Build highly accurate academic data reports and examine them carefully to spot issues, surface anomalies, and trigger corrective action within 48 hours.
- Lead urgent intervention calls and provide follow-up coaching after assessments to resolve barriers, separate true knowledge gaps from simple mistakes, and keep students engaged.
- Review and implement new educational tools and learning materials, while also prototyping AI and LLM-based solutions to improve teaching methods and address specific challenges.
- Work closely with leadership to refine tools, dashboards, and mastery benchmarks as the AI tutor continues to evolve.
What the role does not involve
- It does not center on long meetings or presentation decks that do not connect to measurable outcomes.
- It does not involve traditional grading, lesson-plan writing, or running conventional education programs, since the approach is driven by AI and innovation.
- It is not a purely strategic or repetitive back-office role; the work is practical, hands-on, and fast-moving.
Requirements
- Prior experience in data science, a related analytical role, education, EdTech, or another student-facing position that combines analysis with relationship-building.
- Comfort using Google Sheets for analysis, including lookups, pivot tables, and filtering.
- Strong emotional intelligence, clear communication skills, and a coaching style that works well with students.
- Experience creating workflows and automations with AI tools.
- At least 1 year of direct experience working with K-8 students.
- Ability to work the required core hours of 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Central Time, Monday through Friday.
Preferred qualifications
- Background in learning science, educational theory, or a demonstrated record of improving outcomes through data-based strategies.
- Exposure to Generative AI, prompting approaches, and basic coding skills such as Python or JavaScript for working with AI APIs.
About the organization

Working arrangement and compensation
This is a full-time role with a 40-hour work week and is intended to be long term. The role is available immediately and requires an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as the Contractor of Record. Pay is $30 USD per hour, which comes to $60,000 USD per year based on 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. Compensation is paid weekly.
