Job description
Position Overview
This role supports creel operations in a manufacturing setting by handling yarn preparation, labeling, packaging, and general upkeep of the work area. The position requires consistent attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to complete tasks safely and efficiently in an industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Place new lot-number tags on each creel as needed.
- Remove, trim back, and double or spot-double creels.
- Join yarn packages by air splicing or tying them together.
- Cap defective tubes when required.
- Blow back yarn when necessary.
- Accurately finish RTI labels.
- Build boxes used for yarn handling and storage.
- Keep recyclable materials such as cardboard, plastic, and paper organized.
- Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe work area.
- Support floor supervisors with other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to move up and down stairs.
- Ability to remain standing or walking for most of the shift.
- Capability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 25 pounds without help.
- Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, grasping, and reaching are required.
- Ability to work with arms extended overhead.
- Comfort working in an industrial setting with noise, dust, dirt, humidity, and changing temperatures.
- Minimum reach of 78 inches is required.
- Ability to stay composed under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Must follow all plant rules and policies.
- Ability to complete work quickly while maintaining safety.
- Must meet departmental standards for hanging, splicing, and stripping.
Work Schedule
This is an 8-hour non-rotating shift. The hours follow the punch day schedule, with an observed calendar, and the shift begins in the afternoon.
