KPMG is a worldwide professional services organization offering Audit, Tax, and Advisory solutions across 156 countries, with 152,000 people working in member firms globally. KPMG in India became a member firm in September 1993 and serves more than 4,500 clients across the country. With offices in cities including Delhi, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kochi, Hyderabad, and Kolkata, the firm combines local market understanding with access to a broad global network of professionals.
The Advisory practice supports organizations, intermediaries, and public sector bodies in managing risk, improving performance, and driving value. Within this broader environment, the Governance, Risk & Compliance Services team helps clients strengthen governance, reduce risk, and improve operational effectiveness through tailored support.
Role overview
This position focuses on end-to-end credit assessment for corporate clients. The role involves analyzing financial information, evaluating business and sector performance, preparing underwriting and credit decision documents, and supporting the broader business in controlled credit execution.
What you will do
- Conduct detailed credit reviews by examining financial statements, business performance, and peer comparisons, with a strong focus on corporate borrowers.
- Draft underwriting papers, credit notes, renewal submissions, and new-to-bank requests using borrower financials, sector insights, and internal risk guidelines.
- Assist the business team with financial spreading, checking data accuracy, verifying documents, and resolving portfolio-related queries.
- Work closely with Legal and Operations teams to confirm that facility and security documentation aligns with approved terms and remains compliant.
- Track portfolio health through covenant monitoring, exposure reviews, early-warning signals, and approval-condition follow-up, while escalating exceptions as needed.
- Keep communication flowing across business, risk, and support functions to ensure credit processing remains smooth, controlled, and timely.
Experience and skills expected
The role calls for 2 to 6 years of experience in corporate credit analysis. Strong capability in financial analysis, credit ratios, cash-flow assessment, and lending structures is important, along with hands-on comfort with financial modelling, Excel, and data validation.
You should also be able to interpret credit policies, maintain documentation controls, and work within governance-focused processes. A postgraduate qualification or professional credential such as CA, CFA, or FRM is preferred.
Equal opportunity
This employer follows an equal opportunity approach and values diversity. Hiring decisions are based on business requirements, merit, and qualifications.
