Role Summary

This is a full-time, on-site position in Winneba for a Credit Risk Specialist. The role centers on reviewing the creditworthiness of current and potential clients by studying financial statements, cash flow information, and other relevant data. The specialist will estimate credit exposure, recommend or set credit limits, and track portfolios for signs of emerging credit stress. The position also includes preparing clear credit reports and risk assessments for internal decision-making, keeping client information current, working with finance and business development teams, helping improve credit risk policies and processes, and ensuring work is aligned with internal rules and applicable regulatory standards.

Key Duties

  • Assess the credit quality of existing and prospective clients using financial data and supporting documentation.
  • Review financial statements, cash flow patterns, and related information to guide lending or exposure decisions.
  • Estimate credit exposure and recommend appropriate credit limits.
  • Monitor client portfolios for early warning indicators of credit deterioration.
  • Prepare structured credit reports and risk assessments for internal review.
  • Maintain accurate and current client records.
  • Coordinate with finance and business development teams as needed.
  • Contribute to the refinement of credit risk policies and procedures.
  • Support compliance with internal controls and regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

  • Well-grounded knowledge of credit and credit risk management, including borrower evaluation, limit setting, and exposure monitoring.
  • Strong analytical ability, with experience in financial analysis, ratio interpretation, and data-based decision support.
  • Good understanding of finance fundamentals, financial statements, and cash flow behavior in credit decision-making.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
  • Careful attention to detail and accuracy when handling numerical records and documentation.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills for reporting and presenting recommendations.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage several cases or portfolios at once.
  • Comfort using spreadsheets and financial analysis tools; experience with credit or risk management systems is beneficial.
  • Professional certifications related to risk management or credit analysis are an added advantage.
