Job description

About the Role

Julius Baer is looking for a Credit Development Officer to work at the intersection of the Front Office, Markets, and supporting teams. The role focuses on making sure credit products and related processes stay in line with the bank’s credit strategy and policy framework. The position sits within CRM Asia, which is part of the CRO organisation and operates independently from the business to ensure credit transactions remain within the bank’s overall risk appetite.

Core Responsibilities

  • Act as a CRM Asia representative in discussions and meetings with cross-functional stakeholders, including Front Office and Markets, to keep product offerings and processes aligned with credit strategy and policy.
  • Contribute to special assignments and other ad hoc initiatives as required.
  • Build and present clear presentations for stakeholders, including senior leaders and committee members.
  • Plan and run training sessions for Front Office teams on credit risk topics and related systems.

Risk, Conduct, and Regulatory Expectations

  • Support adherence to the bank’s risk philosophy and culture.
  • Follow expected standards of honesty, integrity, due care, diligence, fair dealing, conflict management, competence, ongoing development, appropriate risk control, and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should bring a solid foundation in credit policies and processes, along with strong communication and presentation capability. The role also calls for analytical thinking, sound judgement, initiative, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. A strong team mindset is important, as the position involves building productive relationships across Credit, Front Office, and other divisions.

Additional Requirements

The role calls for strong PowerPoint-based presentation skills, good organization, time management, and the ability to manage projects or initiatives efficiently. Candidates should also have a university degree with a finance-related focus, or an equivalent qualification, plus a general understanding of credit principles, risk management, and banking regulations. Awareness of global financial markets and current affairs is also expected, including attention to legal, tax, and reputational issues.
