Role Purpose
We are looking for a motivated Credit Analyst to join our team focusing on investment-grade and high-yield credit research, portfolio construction, risk management, and quantitative analysis. Working collaboratively, this role involves engagement in all aspects of investment management, combining fundamental credit judgment with quantitative methods and contributing to tool development and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities

- Expand knowledge and expertise in other credit markets and instruments for portfolio inclusion.
- Continuously monitor portfolio positions and make relative value decisions based on thorough fundamental research from both bottom-up and top-down perspectives.
- Understand risks associated with fixed income securities and associated companies.
- Engage with corporate issuers and industry analysts through meetings.
- Research global economies, financial markets, industries, and companies for informed decision-making.
- Assist in preparing and presenting credit, sector, and topical reviews.
- Support the integration of new technologies to enhance investment management processes.
- Participate in reviewing models and documentation; compare quantitative outputs with fundamental credit judgments and identify any discrepancies in model assumptions.
- Provide analytical assistance in portfolio construction, factor and risk modeling, back-testing, as well as scenario and stress testing across portfolios.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in fixed income portfolio management or credit analysis.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related discipline.
- Demonstrated skills in credit due diligence and underwriting, including reporting on specific companies and industries.
- Experience with credit portfolio construction and risk management practices.
- Capability to develop actionable investment recommendations at both credit and industry levels, along with performance monitoring.
- Proficiency in building detailed financial models and industry reports.
- Trading experience with money market and fixed income securities is beneficial.
- Knowledge of leveraged mandates, credit-focused hedge funds, global credit markets, or leveraged finance research (HY/LL) is an advantage.
- Strong technical skills with large data sets and statistical analysis, including programming skills in statistical languages, are considered assets.
- Familiarity with quantitative investment techniques such as factor modeling, systematic screening, portfolio optimization, back-testing, and risk attribution is favorable.
- Professional designations like CFA, CA, CPA, MBA, or CBV are valued.
- Willingness to travel within North America.
- Must have legal authorization to work in Canada for any employer.
Compensation and Benefits
