Job description
About the Position
This permanent part-time role involves working 28 hours per week based at Invercargill District Court. The position focuses on supporting victims of serious crime, particularly in cases involving sexual violence, by guiding them through the court process and keeping them informed about their case status.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide proactive and adaptable support to victims throughout the criminal justice system.
- Maintain regular communication with victims, updating them on case progress and facilitating their participation in legal proceedings.
- Engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders and individuals affected by serious crime.
Required Skills and Experience
- Demonstrate resilience when assisting people impacted by trauma.
- Maintain a calm demeanor and relate well to individuals from various backgrounds.
- Communicate confidently and exercise sound judgment.
- Build and sustain effective working relationships.
- Work cooperatively within a team environment and manage multiple competing priorities professionally.
- Hold a relevant tertiary qualification and/or have experience in the sexual violence sector (desirable).
- Possess a full New Zealand driver licence to allow for travel to multiple courts within the region.

Salary Information
This role is paid between $74,634 and $95,591 per year on a pro rata basis, with the exact salary determined by skills and experience.
