Opportunity Overview
Join G4S as a Court Security Officer in Swan Hill and receive a $3,000 sign-on incentive, paid in two stages: $1,000 after six months and $2,000 after one year. Enjoy a daytime work schedule from Monday to Friday with no night or weekend shifts. Comprehensive on-site paid training is offered, including instruction on the use of batons, handcuffs, and x-ray screening equipment. Successfully completing training qualifies you as an Authorised Officer of the Courts. Employee referral bonuses of up to $500 are uncapped for recruiting new staff.
Role Description
As part of Court Services Victoria, this position focuses on maintaining the security, safety, and order within courts and tribunals. This role entails a variety of daily challenges requiring quick thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Your efforts will contribute to creating a safer environment for court visitors and personnel.
Key Duties
- Deliver excellent customer service to court visitors.
- Operate x-ray screening, utilize metal detectors, and conduct searches for restricted items.
- Perform patrols inside and outside court premises.
- Handle conflict resolution and negotiation effectively.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to incidents as a first responder.
- Manage access control areas and monitor control rooms.
Work Environment
Court Services Victoria operates in seven hub locations with over 65 courts across the state. Your base will be in the Loddon Mallee hub, serving courts in Swan Hill and Kerang, with potential for fixed or flexible work locations and movement across sites within the contract.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possession of Certificate II or III in Security Operations.
- Valid Victorian security licence.
- Current first aid certification.
- Willingness to travel between Swan Hill and Kerang courts.
