About the Role

This 12-month fixed term or secondment position as a Court Registry Support Officer offers an opportunity to actively contribute to the justice system in Aotearoa New Zealand. You will be essential to the effective daily functioning of court services, collaborating with Registry Officers, Judiciary, justice partners, and court users to ensure professional, efficient, and compassionate service delivery. This role involves supporting courtroom activities, frontline customer assistance, and facilitating the smooth operation of justice processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with courtroom operations and provide support during court hearings.
  • Deliver professional customer service both face-to-face and via telephone.
  • Handle court documentation including files, correspondence, and registry records.
  • Coordinate logistical tasks such as mail management, office supplies, travel arrangements, and various administrative duties.
  • Provide assistance to jurors, court attendees, and stakeholders within the justice sector.
  • Maintain precise records and update data within court-related systems.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service in a dynamic, busy environment.
  • Confident communication skills to engage with diverse individuals.
  • Strong organizational aptitude and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Competent use of technology and administrative software systems.
  • Understanding or commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and cultural capability is essential.
  • Previous experience in administration, customer support, reception, or related support roles will be advantageous.

Salary Details

The salary range for this position is $56,343 to $71,144 per annum, with starting salary commensurate with your skills and experience. The Ministry is open to offering salaries at the higher end of this scale to attract highly qualified candidates.
