About the Role
The Ministry of Justice in New Zealand invites applications for the position of Court Registry Officer at the Hamilton District Court within the Central Region. This permanent full-time role requires working closely within a team dedicated to the smooth functioning of court operations and engaging with diverse stakeholders involved in the justice system, including judges and judiciary members.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage court proceedings by facilitating courtroom operations including introducing judges in both English and Te Reo Māori, supporting judges inside courtroom and chambers, overseeing jurors, and handling general administrative duties.
- Handle case management to ensure judiciary and involved parties have all necessary information and that the organization and scheduling of cases promote timely hearings.
- Provide excellent customer service through multiple channels such as face-to-face, telephone, and email, addressing any court-related inquiries.
- Be prepared to travel across various Waikato court locations; a valid full, clean New Zealand driver's license is mandatory.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing complex court processes and data.
- Self-awareness and adaptability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in varied situations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and efficiently switch between duties.

- Resilient and capable of working with sensitive cases, sometimes under high workload conditions.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $60,729 to $80,794 annually, with placement within that band depending on candidates’ skills and experience.
