About the Role
The Ministry of Justice in New Zealand is seeking a skilled Court Registry Officer to join the Criminal team at the Dunedin District Court in Otago. This is a permanent, full-time position based onsite, where you will play a key role in supporting the efficient functioning of the Court.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate court proceedings which include introducing Judges in both English and Te Reo Maori, supporting Judges within the courtroom and chambers, managing jurors, and handling general court administration.
- Manage cases by ensuring all Judiciary members and case parties have necessary information and that logistical arrangements are in place for timely hearings.
- Provide high-quality customer service through face-to-face, phone, and email communication, addressing various court-related inquiries.
- Maintain a full, clean New Zealand driving licence as a role requirement.
Skills and Experience
- Attention to detail and vigilance in managing court processes and case data accurately.
- Self-awareness and confidence working independently and collaboratively across diverse and unique participant situations.
- Ability to multitask effectively by prioritizing and transitioning swiftly between competing duties, including repetitive tasks.
- Openness to learning and adaptability to changing court legislation and procedures.
- Resilience to handle sensitive cases and periods of high workload.

Additional Information
Salary for this position ranges from $60,729 to $80,794 per year, depending on skills and experience.
