Overview

Under general supervision, this role involves moderate complexity tasks in facilitating navigation and support within community court pods. The Court Pod Navigator aids community members in accessing resources necessary for organizing and participating in remote court hearings while undertaking related responsibilities as assigned.

This is a limited appointment position funded by the Access to Justice (A2J) grant, with a term ending on June 30, 2027, allowing up to 25 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Function as the main contact for users of remote court pods in a designated area.
  • Assist court pod users in understanding pod usage for hearings and ensure internet connections are operational for pod readiness.
  • Refer and coordinate services to support court pod users in line with program goals.
  • Serve as intermediary between court pod users and court entities to improve accessibility, service quality, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Track pod usage, maintain hardware and necessary equipment, and communicate technical or operational issues to supervisors or vendors.
  • Distribute educational materials to raise awareness of available services targeting vulnerable and underserved groups.
  • Follow all protocols related to user interaction, confidentiality, and collaboration with partners.
  • Additional duties as assigned aligned with position needs.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Tasks require activities including sitting, standing, walking, interaction with individuals or working independently, handling repetitive keyboard actions, visual acuity for monitor work, hearing, speech for communication, and fine motor skills for keyboard use.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of relevant experience supporting community-based or vulnerable populations, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience demonstrating capability in assigned duties.

Must have or obtain an Arizona driver's license at the time of hire and maintain its validity during employment. Employment will be contingent on a satisfactory 5-year Arizona Motor Vehicle Report; fingerprint clearance may also be necessary.

  • Proficiency in assisting others to increase access to services.
  • Competence in standard software tools and video conferencing solutions.
  • Business English literacy, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and arithmetic.
  • Strong office management practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities, community engagement, and conflict mediation skills.
  • Empathy and social skills to support diverse populations effectively.
  • Capability in using Microsoft Office and web-based technology efficiently.
  • Effective communication with people from varied cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and demands.
  • Professionalism paired with compassionate customer service approach.
  • Impartiality and collaboration within diverse teams.
  • Ability to work independently in dynamic environments while prioritizing safety.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
