Role Summary
The Country Manager for Uzbekistan will lead the entire business operation within the country, driving market expansion and ensuring organizational excellence. This role involves steering cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with local laws, maximizing operational effectiveness, and acting as the key liaison between the company and stakeholders. While operational leadership is paramount, this position will also play a role in business development to support sustained growth. Upholding SJ Group values, ethics, and compliance is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership by developing and implementing country-level strategies aligned with global goals and local market conditions.
- Oversee business performance using KPIs to maintain operational efficiency, quality, and profitability.
- Lead and guide teams across various functions within Uzbekistan.
- Manage financial oversight including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and transparent reporting in coordination with corporate finance.
- Drive business development initiatives by identifying new opportunities, building client relationships, and supporting proposals and bids.
- Represent the company at key local industry events and maintain a strong professional network.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Economics, or related discipline; MBA is preferred.
- Strong leadership qualities with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in written and spoken Uzbek, English, and Russian.
- Deep understanding of Uzbekistan’s regulatory, economic, and cultural environment.
