Notion is a collaborative AI-powered workspace aimed at transforming how teams work together by combining knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools in a single platform. Millions of users globally, including individuals, startups, and large enterprises such as Toyota and OpenAI, use Notion to streamline their work. Employees, called Notinos, embody a passion for craftsmanship and creating lasting value, focusing on enhancing human collaboration in the era of AI.

The company emphasizes in-person teamwork, requiring team members to be onsite on Mondays and Thursdays, with additional days for certain roles.

Role Overview

The Country Manager for Singapore will lead Notion’s establishment and expansion in the local market. This leadership position involves driving initial momentum, securing key customer wins, and building scalable operations akin to launching a startup within the company. Responsibilities include full ownership of revenue generation, sales leadership, and collaboration with marketing, customer success, and professional services teams, while aligning closely with the broader regional strategy. The role reports to the APAC General Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and drive all revenue streams for Notion’s Singapore operations.
  • Recruit, nurture, and lead a high-performing sales team dedicated to pipeline growth and revenue achievement.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Singapore’s Notion user base, identifying workflows, use cases, and unmet needs to shape market strategy.
  • Build momentum through community engagement, startups, and key strategic alliances.
  • Represent Notion in public forums including press interactions, events, and executive-level discussions.
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, customer success, and other teams to ensure customer outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Expand Notion’s footprint across the region through proactive engagement and promotion.

Candidate Profile

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a founder’s energy and drive, comfortable managing ambiguity and building from scratch.
  • Technical proficiency with Notion’s platform and AI integrations, capable of discussing features with technical stakeholders.
  • Strong local connections within Singapore’s startup, venture capital, media, and community spheres.
  • Experience developing sustainable partner programs beyond one-time events.
  • Comfortable and effective as a public representative across various media and leadership forums.
  • Collaborative approach to go-to-market strategies with measurable ecosystem engagement methods.
  • Proven sales leadership in building and guiding teams to consistent revenue success.
  • Highly data-driven with expertise in performance tracking, goal setting, and strategic investment decisions.

Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of professional experience with strong sales, business development, or market-building expertise, including at least 3 years in management.
  • Experience operating in Southeast Asian markets, spanning startup to enterprise segments.
  • Adaptability to the fast-paced and iterative nature of early-stage operations.
  • Strong empathy for customers paired with a passion for growth and revenue results.
  • Fluency in English; additional regional language skills are advantageous.

Preferred Attributes

  • Background in high-growth SaaS or AI companies within Southeast Asia.
  • Native or fluent proficiency in Mandarin, Malay, or other regional languages.
  • Experience promoting productivity, collaboration, or developer tools.
  • Track record in building community-led or product-driven growth initiatives.
  • Interest and willingness to incorporate AI tools to enhance work outcomes, though deep AI expertise is not mandatory.

Equal Opportunity and Inclusivity

Notion values diversity and encourages applicants from varied backgrounds, even if all listed criteria are not fully met. The company is an equal opportunity employer, prohibiting discrimination based on legally protected characteristics, and provides reasonable accommodations during the application process for qualified individuals with disabilities or other needs.
