Role overview
The Country Head (East) for SEC@NYC sits within the International Business Division and is based in New York, with responsibility for pan-East US programmes and company facilitation. The role reports to the NAECA Director at SBF headquarters and plays a key part in supporting the sustainable growth and performance of SEC@NYC. You will work closely with the NAECA market team to deliver commitments and help Singapore companies enter, expand and strengthen their businesses in the United States.
Market development and business facilitation
- Drive new initiatives and programmes, and arrange outreach platforms such as roundtables and dialogue sessions to expand market reach and support collaboration and business growth in the assigned region.
- Build strategic links and commercial opportunities that can translate into partnerships and tangible business results.
- Develop and maintain a strong network of contacts in the market.
- Implement market engagement plans and interpret market data and trends.
- Offer advisory input and market intelligence to support companies with their international expansion plans.
- Source and engage new partners and platforms that can benefit Singapore businesses.
- Identify opportunities to generate revenue through partnerships, programmes and related services.
Secretariat responsibilities
- Prepare country briefs that help senior leaders, external stakeholders and Singapore companies understand the market.
- Engage with political office holders and participate in relevant events.
- Track and meet KPIs, while submitting timely reports with practical market and business insights.
- Work with both internal teams and external stakeholders, managing influence effectively across groups.
Programme delivery and customer experience
- Plan and deliver events, seminars and in-market business missions that support departmental objectives and create quality leads and networking opportunities for companies.
- Organise market activities within the set resource, time and budget constraints.
Requirements
- At least 9 years of relevant experience in international business development.
- A well-established network across businesses, chambers, industry associations and relevant government bodies in the region.
- Good knowledge of the US business landscape, industry structure and market ecosystem.
- Comfort with cross-cultural working styles and strong communication skills for engaging diverse stakeholders.
- Proven capability in business development, process coordination and negotiation.
- Prior exposure to programme development and management would be an advantage.
- Experience in both public and private sector environments would be an added plus.
- Strong leadership ability, combined with a practical and hands-on style.
