Country Business Head - Dubai

Overview

A prominent regional bank is looking for an experienced banking leader to spearhead its Dubai branch operations, aiming to drive growth and ensure operational and regulatory excellence. This position demands a seasoned executive with comprehensive experience in the UAE banking sector and a strong commercial acumen.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the overall business strategy, operational performance, and daily workings of the Dubai branch.
• Formulate and implement plans to grow corporate, commercial, SME, treasury, and trade finance services.
• Enhance profitability, boost revenue, expand customer base, and increase market share while upholding a stringent risk and compliance culture.
• Establish and cultivate robust relationships with prominent clients, regulators, government agencies, and strategic partners across the UAE.
• Maintain full compliance with UAE banking laws and governance standards.
• Spot new market opportunities and devise strategic initiatives to solidify the bank's market position.
• Supervise operational efficiency, ensure service quality, manage business continuity, and uphold audit and regulatory standards throughout country operations.
• Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing teams promoting accountability and a customer-focused approach.
• Coordinate with both regional and head office leadership teams to advance strategic goals and implement cross-border business plans.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Banking, or a closely related field.
• Have at least 20 years of experience in banking, with a minimum of 10 to 15 years in UAE banking institutions and at least 5 years in senior country leadership or banking operations roles.
• Demonstrated expertise in Corporate Banking, Trade Finance, Treasury, and Relationship Management.
• Proven track record of managing profit and loss, fostering business growth, and leading diverse banking functions.
• In-depth understanding of UAE’s banking sector, regulatory landscape, and market conditions.
• Exceptional leadership abilities, strong stakeholder engagement, and business development skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in Arabic considered advantageous.
