Role overview
This position is for a Costing Engineer with a background in the same industry. The role calls for someone who can assess electrical panel-related designs, build accurate cost models, and support pricing and procurement decisions for switchgear and power distribution products.
Core responsibilities
- Study single-line diagrams, 2D/3D CAD files, and technical specifications to understand the full project scope.
- Build detailed Bills of Materials (BOM) and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for products such as modular switches, distribution boards, and circuit breakers.
- Work out the cost of raw inputs including copper, silver, brass, and polycarbonate, along with labor and overhead expenses.
- Review the financial impact of engineering changes and new product development proposals.
- Assist procurement by comparing vendor quotations and preparing negotiation support data.
- Maintain standard costing for raw materials, semi-finished items, and finished goods.
- Check BOMs and routing costs carefully so product structures remain accurate.
Requirements and qualifications
- Must have at least 3 years of experience.
- Prior experience in the same industry is required.
- Strong understanding of switchgear parts, LT/HT power distribution, and electrical standards such as IS and IEC.
- Hands-on expertise in MS Excel and ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle.
- Background in electricals, switchgear, or electronics is preferred.
- B.Tech / B.E. in any specialization is required.
Additional information
Location: Greater Noida, India.
Compensation range: INR 2,00,000 to 4,00,000 per year.
