Corporate M&A Paralegal

Role overview

This contract role is for a Corporate M&A Paralegal supporting deal execution across merger and acquisition matters. The position is fully remote and requires a weekly commitment of 10 to 40 hours. Compensation is set at $40 to $70 per hour.

What you'll do

• Work alongside attorneys and transaction teams through every phase of M&A deals, including diligence, document coordination, and post-close follow-up.
• Handle confidential corporate and financial records carefully, with strict attention to PII compliance requirements.
• Manage the secure processing, redaction, and movement of sensitive personal and business information during the transaction lifecycle.
• Help prepare, submit, and track compliance records and regulatory filings as needed.
• Perform checks related to PII compliance, flag possible issues, and suggest workflow improvements that strengthen privacy controls.
• Coordinate with internal teams and outside counterparts, sharing updates, concerns, and requirements clearly in both written and spoken communication.

What we're looking for

• Substantial background in PII compliance within a corporate law or M&A environment.
• Hands-on experience safeguarding sensitive and proprietary records.
• Strong working knowledge of mergers and acquisitions terminology, procedures, and standard practices.
• Clear understanding of regulatory obligations related to data privacy and compliance.
• Ability to manage detailed financial files and due diligence materials accurately.

Additional information
