Role Overview
As a Corporate Affairs Specialist reporting to the Corporate Affairs Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping public perception and engagement with DB Breweries, Star Hospitality, and associated brands. This hands-on position is ideal for someone passionate about storytelling, reputation management, and fostering connections among employees, consumers, media, and communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and executing creative PR and communication strategies that vividly showcase brand and corporate narratives.
- Supporting communication efforts for a diverse portfolio of local and global beverage brands along with unique hospitality venues.
- Producing compelling content tailored for internal updates, external communications, digital channels, media, and stakeholders.
- Safeguarding and enhancing the reputations of both an iconic NZ brewer and the country's leading hospitality group.
- Identifying relevant stories, trends, and opportunities through monitoring media, social platforms, venues, brands, and the broader industry.
- Assisting media relations, crafting executive speeches, presentations, and impactful campaigns.
- Contributing to sustainability and ESG-related communication ensuring clarity, credibility, and engagement.
- Handling media inquiries and supporting issue management requiring prompt, thoughtful responses.
- Driving projects within the Corporate Affairs team with energy, curiosity, and innovative ideas.
Candidate Profile
- Approximately 4 to 5 years of experience in communications, PR, journalism, marketing communications, or sustainability communications.
- Exceptional storytelling ability with strong writing, editing, and content development skills.
- A creative thinker who offers fresh perspectives, ideas, and takes initiative.
- Experienced in adapting communication style across various channels and audiences, from internal messages to public relations.
- Familiarity with media relations, media monitoring, or social listening tools.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate confidently across all organizational levels.
- Adept at managing multiple priorities, responding swiftly, and maintaining composure under changing circumstances.
- Sound judgment with meticulous attention to detail, coupled with a genuine passion for reputation, branding, people, and culture.
