Job Overview
The FO Core System Engineer plays a vital role in monitoring and managing telecom network alarms, services, and key performance indicators (KPIs) on shift basis. This position requires prompt incident initiation, escalation to team leads, and cooperation with internal and external parties to ensure network stability and service quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Track core network components including MSC, HLR, STP, GGSN, SGSN, EPC, IMS, Gateways, Roaming, IIG, and Data Center infrastructure utilizing the ZTE Unified Fault Management system.
- Detect and report faults promptly, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.
- Start incident management procedures in the event of significant network outages.
- Handle trouble ticket management and compile reports on SLA adherence.
- Collaborate with back-office teams and third-party vendors to resolve network issues effectively.
- Generate contractual KPI measurements and prepare ad hoc reports for customers.
- Support change management activities and communicate notifications as required.
- Follow ITIL best practices and telecom-specific operational guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with established security measures and risk management policies.
- Maintain detailed documentation and assist audit teams when necessary.
- Provide routine status updates to internal teams and clients.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Possess a bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Preferably hold certifications such as ITIL, CCNP, or vendor-specific qualifications from companies like Ericsson, Huawei, or ZTE.
- 3 to 4 years of experience in telecommunications network operations.
- Familiarity with mobile network architecture, node functions, IP protocols, and routing principles.
- Basic understanding of DWDM, IP networking, and MPLS technologies.
Skill Set
- Fundamental grasp of telecommunications network operations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Ability to perform effectively under high-pressure and critical scenarios.
- Proactive and responsive attitude toward incident handling at any time.
- Knowledge of Python programming, Power BI, and automation coding techniques.
- Eagerness to learn and a growth-oriented mindset.
