About the Role

Digital Counsel seeks a copywriter fluent in the contemporary art scene's language and ethos. This position involves crafting clear, concise, and culturally resonant content tailored for various digital formats. Strong research skills and the ability to communicate complex and innovative art concepts to diverse audiences are essential. The role includes adjusting tone and style for institutional platforms, public communication, and social media.

Key Duties

  • Create and polish copy for digital outlets including social media (organic and paid), short video scripts, artist biographies, exhibition and project descriptions, editorial pieces, interviews, SEO-enhanced material, newsletters, and marketing presentations.
  • Work collaboratively with artists, writers, editors, and designers to deliver digital campaigns and editorial content that express authentic voices.
  • Manage editorial production by commissioning, editing, and revising essays and reviews, ensuring thorough feedback incorporation.
  • Oversee web and digital publishing processes using CMS tools to guarantee content quality before release.
  • Contribute writing to client presentations and reports as required.

  • Exhibit adaptability in writing style and tone to suit different contexts such as institutional, public-facing, and social media.
  • Maintain high standards for clarity, correctness, and brand consistency.
  • Perform detailed research to keep content engaging and accessible to a wide audience.

Qualifications

  • Between three and five years of digital copywriting experience, preferably in creative agencies or art and cultural marketing sectors.
  • Comprehensive understanding of contemporary art and culture with proficiency in both rapid social media content and extended editorial materials.
  • Experience with CMS tools, email platforms like Mailchimp and Klayvio, analytic software including Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, and project organization software such as Airtable and Basecamp.
  • Strong organization and multitasking ability, handling various deadlines simultaneously.
  • An established portfolio showcasing work in art, culture, digital storytelling, and social media campaigns.

Additional Advantages

  • Background in commissioning or editing culture-related writings.
  • Interest in social media and content generation.
  • Familiar with digital design and publishing platforms such as Figma, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Compensation and Contract Details
