This ongoing full-time position sits within Student Services and focuses on improving how timetable and enrolment activities are planned, delivered, and refined so that staff and students experience efficient, reliable service.
In this role, you will review current processes, help shape better business practices, and contribute to the effective use of university resources. The position plays an important part in maintaining smooth operations, resolving issues, and supporting a strong experience for stakeholders across the university.
Key duties
- Lead the coordination, rollout, upkeep, and review of the university timetable, working closely with relevant stakeholders to meet requirements and align with the university’s strategic priorities while maximising resource use.
- Investigate timetable, enrolment, and data integrity issues in the student information system, identify underlying causes, and prepare recommendations or proposals for management consideration.
- Support the introduction of change management and communication approaches that strengthen timetable and enrolment processes, while ensuring compliance with university policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.
About you
You bring substantial experience with student information and timetabling platforms and can adapt quickly to new systems and workflows. You are comfortable diagnosing problems, building workable solutions, and improving processes in a structured environment.
You also communicate well with a wide range of stakeholders, stay highly organised, and use strong analytical judgment to support customer-focused outcomes. Experience helping staff through training, documentation, and guidance on data quality and integrity will be valuable in this role.
Selection criteria
- A relevant degree plus at least 4 years of subsequent relevant experience in a higher education environment; or extensive technical or administrative experience with management capability; or broad knowledge of tertiary curriculum, enrolments, and related functions.
- Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with computerised student information systems and/or timetabling systems.
- Proven ability to assess issues, design practical and innovative solutions, and work effectively in a process improvement setting.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and contribute to responsive, customer-oriented service delivery.
- Capability to support staff in understanding data integrity, quality control, and continuous improvement practices.
- Experience organising and delivering training sessions, along with preparing documents and publications.
