Role Overview
This is a full-time, on-site position in Lucknow for someone who can manage the full volunteer lifecycle. The Coordinator of Volunteers will help bring in volunteers, guide them through onboarding, arrange schedules, and make sure they are prepared to support programs and events. The role also includes creating and conducting training, keeping volunteer information accurate and up to date, and ensuring each volunteer clearly understands their duties.
Key Duties
- Source and recruit volunteers for different programs and event needs.
- Handle volunteer onboarding and make sure new volunteers are properly introduced to the organization and their tasks.
- Prepare volunteer rosters and manage scheduling so the right support is available when required.
- Develop and conduct training sessions and supporting materials for volunteers.
- Maintain organized and accurate records related to volunteer participation and engagement.
- Clarify expectations, roles, and responsibilities for volunteers.
- Support volunteers while they are assigned to activities or events.
- Address concerns and resolve issues that arise during volunteer assignments.
- Share feedback and recognition to encourage volunteer engagement and retention.
- Coordinate outreach efforts within the community and build relationships with local organizations.
- Track volunteer participation and program results, then report findings to leadership.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have solid experience or capability in volunteer management, including recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and retention. The ideal person should also be able to design and deliver practical volunteer training and communicate clearly with diverse groups. Experience in community outreach, nonprofit work, or community engagement is preferred. A bachelor’s degree in social work, humanities, management, or a related field is helpful. Strong organization, time management, attention to detail, and record-keeping skills are important. The candidate must be comfortable working on-site in Lucknow and should follow inclusive and non-discriminatory practices while collaborating with people from varied backgrounds.
