Job description

About the Role

This position is with Fundación de Segundo Piso and involves a hybrid working model with one month of initial onboarding on-site. The main aim is to support, strengthen, and monitor environmental and community development initiatives in vulnerable territories, applying a systemic and regenerative approach that balances environmental protection with community wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire process of strategies supported by the foundation in environmental and community/productive development areas, including design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and closure.
  • Provide technical assistance to partner organizations for creating logical frameworks, budgets, and schedules.
  • Conduct fieldwork and territorial visits, engaging with communities, partner organizations, and local stakeholders.
  • Facilitate participatory evaluation processes and systematize lessons learned.
  • Document experiences and prepare clear reports to inform institutional decision-making.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Sustainable Development, Environmental Sciences, Ecology, Geography, Environmental Engineering, Community Development, or related areas. Master's degree in Sustainability, Rural Development, or Socio-environmental Studies is preferred.
  • Essential experience working in civil society organizations, cooperation, or socio-environmental projects involving direct fieldwork.
  • Strong regenerative and environmental justice approach (non-conservationist), understanding the interconnectedness of territory, community, and local economies.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.

Competencies

  • Cultural sensitivity with a human rights perspective.
  • Ability to translate socio-environmental diagnostics into feasible and culturally appropriate proposals.
  • Skilled at coordinating with civil society organizations, communities, academia, and local authorities.

Terms and Conditions

  • Salary up to 30000 net Mexican pesos per month, depending on experience and profile.
