  • Organize and maintain editorial and social media calendars to strategically schedule content releases and maximize audience engagement.
  • Handle community interactions across social platforms, monitor fan feedback, address ticketing concerns, and oversee social inboxes.
  • Maintain the Islanders’ brand voice focused on storytelling and fan interaction while following AP Style and internal editorial guidelines.
  • Analyze and report on the performance metrics of content across digital platforms to guide future strategies.

Candidate Profile

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in digital media, sports communications, editorial, or social media roles.

  • Ability to capture and edit photos and videos effectively.
  • Experience with CMS platforms and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite tools including Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS to manage web content formatting and troubleshooting in a CMS environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Digital Media, or a similar discipline.
  • Strong skills in writing, editing, headline creation, and sports storytelling adhering to AP Style standards.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of juggling multiple deadlines in a fast-paced workplace.
  • Excellent communication skills with a collaborative approach and team-oriented mindset.
  • Passionate about hockey with extensive knowledge of the NHL landscape.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, game nights, and travel locally as necessary.
