About the Role
This full-time Cook position is based in Colac, Victoria, at Calvary Barongarook Gardens and Calvary The Regent. The role involves preparing and cooking high-quality, nutritionally balanced meals for aged care residents, working across two locations with a combined workload of approximately 76.9 hours per fortnight. You will collaborate closely with the kitchen team to ensure meals meet dietary requirements and preferences, while maintaining strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare freshly cooked meals for vulnerable aged care residents.
- Support residents' health and wellbeing by following the Calvary National Menu Guide.
Candidate Profile
- Familiarity with IDDSI framework and nutritional guidelines relevant to aged care.
- Capability to prepare meals according to planned menus.
- Completed or willing to complete basic food safety certification (HLTFSE001).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety (WHS) and infection control practices.
- Proficiency using standard domestic and industrial kitchen equipment.
- TAFE Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or Certificate Level III in Food Studies preferred but not mandatory.
