Overview

The position of Cook II at Four Points by Sheraton in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, involves preparing ingredients such as cutting, portioning, and storing food components for cooking. Responsibilities include washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables, measuring and mixing ingredients, and cooking food in accordance with recipes, quality, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists. The role demands preparing cold foods, operating kitchen appliances including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, as well as testing food to ensure it is properly cooked.

Job Duties

  • Maintain quality control while preparing food and monitor food quality during production.
  • Prepare and organize food workspaces.
  • Serve portions of food in suitable containers accurately.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
  • Verify proper temperatures of appliances and food items.
  • Comply fully with company safety and security policies, report maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management, and complete safety training and certifications.
  • Maintain a neat, professional appearance including uniform and personal grooming.
  • Uphold confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, build and sustain positive work relationships, support team objectives, and respond appropriately to coworkers’ concerns.
  • Adhere strictly to quality expectations and standards.
  • Perform physical tasks such as standing, sitting, walking, bending, twisting, reaching overhead and below the knees, and manually handling items up to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Carry out additional reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least one year of relevant work experience in a similar culinary role.
  • No supervisory experience required.
  • No licenses or certificates necessary.
