About Us
The Kongress Dortmund GmbH operates the Kongresszentrum Dortmund, which is recognized as one of Germany's established exhibition and congress venues. Located in one of Europe's most robust economic regions, the center is known for professionally managing both national and international congresses. Connected directly to the center is the 4-star Mercure Hotel situated within the Westfalenhallen Dortmund complex, which includes concert and exhibition halls as well as the Dortmund football stadium.
Job Responsibilities
- Preparation and cooking of dishes and menus in the premium segment
- Plating and presenting dishes and menus
- Managing off-site catering activities, including the arrangement of buffets and meals
- Performing front cooking during weddings and selected events, including at the in-house venue "Die Speisekammer"
- Setting up and dismantling buffets
- Overseeing buffet service
- Receiving and storing goods
- Maintaining kitchen equipment and facilities
- Ensuring compliance with HACCP guidelines and occupational safety protocols
Required Qualifications
- Completed vocational training in the culinary field, preferably supplemented with one or more additional qualifications
- Several years of professional experience
- Strong customer orientation
- Ability to work well within a team
- Creative approach and innovative ideas
- Independent working style and resilience
- Proactive, hands-on attitude
- Passion and dedication to quality products
- Flexibility and ability to handle high-pressure situations
- Driver's license of at least category B is mandatory

Working volume is 169 hours per month.
Salary classification is within pay band 2 according to DEHOGA NGG collective agreement plus performance bonuses.
