Role Overview
This contract role is focused on supporting hospital procurement and contract execution work from a fully remote setup. The specialist ensures that contracts for goods and services are reviewed with proper due diligence and that sourcing opportunities are coordinated across the organization to improve consistency and drive scale benefits where possible.
What You Will Do
- Review historical spending patterns to understand where money is being spent across the organization.
- Group and analyze spend categories to uncover sourcing leverage and consolidation opportunities.
- Share analysis and recommendations with the Administrative Director.
- Perform due diligence by understanding internal demand, assessing the supply base, and identifying key stakeholders.
- Build a more structured supplier management approach for major suppliers.
- Calculate the full cost of key services purchased by the organization.
- Drive cost-reduction initiatives and turn findings into practical projects that create measurable value.
- Oversee contract activity related to procurement of goods and services.
- Work closely with Corporate Legal throughout the contracting process.
- Partner with end users to ensure quality and patient care considerations remain central in all contract decisions.
- Coordinate cross-functional discussions so IT, Facilities, and other relevant teams can contribute to contract language when needed.
- Apply Lean and/or Continuous Improvement methods to guide ongoing work.
- Take into account Premier, the organization’s Group Purchasing Organization, when conducting business.
- Collaborate with Materials Management to meet contracting needs across commodity areas and participate in Value Analysis Teams and other assigned committees.

- Comfortable communicating regularly with internal customers to ensure service expectations are met.
- Ability to provide clear status updates to the Administrative Director and Materials Management leadership.
- Skilled at balancing multiple priorities at once.
- Sound judgment, diplomacy, and tact in professional interactions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
