About the Company
We are a prominent integrated steel manufacturing firm engaged in diverse activities such as iron making, steel casting, rolling mills, captive power generation, pellet production, ferro alloys, and mining. Our operations span across all these verticals to ensure a seamless production process.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, evaluate, negotiate, and manage various types of contracts including EPC/EPCM, civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, equipment supply, services, logistics, consultancy, and framework agreements.
- Oversee the entire contract lifecycle from tendering, award, execution, modification, claims handling, renewals, to contract closure.
- Apply and administer contracts aligned with FIDIC standards (Red, Yellow, and Silver Books) when relevant.
- Identify and assess risks related to contracts, commercial factors, and legal compliance, advising on mitigation approaches.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Project, Engineering, and Commercial departments during bid analysis, vendor negotiation, and contract finalization.
- Manage contractual adjustments such as variations, change orders, extensions of time, liquidated damages, performance guarantees, and claims submitted by contractors.
- Ensure adherence to contract terms, statutory regulations, organizational policies, and internal compliance frameworks.
- Coordinate efforts with Legal, Finance, Project, Operations, and Stores teams for effective contract administration.
- Maintain comprehensive contract documentation including registers, repositories, MIS reports, renewal monitoring, and claims tracking.
- Support resolution of disputes through arbitration or litigation by preserving detailed contract records.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.), Engineering, Commerce, or Business Administration.
- An MBA or PGDM specializing in Finance, Contracts, or Operations is desirable.
- Recognition or certification in Contract Management from accredited bodies such as WorldCC or IACCM and FIDIC familiarity are advantageous.
- Have 5 to 10 years of substantial experience in contract management within domains such as integrated steel plants, power plants, mining, heavy engineering, metals manufacturing, or EPC projects.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of FIDIC guidelines, EPC/EPCM contract structures, Indian Contract Act, and Arbitration & Conciliation legislation alongside commercial contract procedures.
- Experience managing contracts related to plant expansions, capital projects, shutdowns, procurement of equipment, and maintenance agreements is highly preferred.
