Role Summary
The Contract Officer is responsible for coordinating and managing the organization’s contract lifecycle from drafting and review to execution and follow-up. The role ensures all agreements with customers, suppliers, and partners comply with applicable laws and internal policies, while securing favorable commercial terms for the company. It also involves monitoring contract performance, handling disputes, and reducing legal and financial exposure through precise and strategic contract-related support.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, draft, and structure legal agreements in line with business needs, clearly defining terms and conditions while protecting the company’s interests.
- Review contract documents with relevant stakeholders, negotiate provisions, and secure commercially beneficial terms.
- Assess legal exposure and help reduce risks by inserting appropriate protective clauses.
- Track contract execution to ensure all parties meet agreed obligations, deadlines, and budgets.
- Maintain contract records and produce regular status updates and reports for management on contractual obligations and legal matters.
Detailed Duties
- Write new agreements tailored to organizational requirements and ensure legal safeguards are included to limit risk.
- Advise different departments on contract requirements and align agreements with strategic objectives.
- Verify that contracts comply with local and international regulations, including labor and commercial laws.
- Analyze financial, legal, and operational terms to identify inconsistencies or issues that could affect performance.
- Confirm alignment with company policies, including procurement controls and financial approval procedures.
- Negotiate payment terms, timelines, and legal responsibilities with suppliers, clients, and partners to achieve the best outcome for the company.
- Ensure long-term commercial contracts remain favorable and workable for the business.
- Coordinate with finance, legal, and operations teams to support full contract compliance during implementation.
- Provide legal and administrative support to resolve issues that arise during execution.
- Handle disputes or legal challenges that occur between parties and work toward practical resolutions.
- Support re-negotiation or contract amendments when needed to address changing circumstances.
- Store signed contracts and related revisions securely in an electronic database and keep records accurate and easy to retrieve.
- Prepare periodic reports for senior management on contract status and execution progress.
- Ensure contracts are processed and signed promptly without unnecessary delays.
- Issue collection invoices, monitor payment follow-up, and track receivables from investors on a regular basis.
- Prepare recurring reports on investor service performance and suggest ongoing improvements to enhance service quality and collection efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in contracts or legal affairs.
- Advanced knowledge of relevant local and international contract laws.
- Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
- Ability to handle legal documents with discretion, accuracy, and professionalism.
- Fluency in Arabic and English.
- Saudi nationality is required.
