Job Overview
We seek a motivated and meticulous Contract Executive to aid in the commercial and contractual oversight of construction projects in Singapore, Malaysia, and other international sites. This role is tailored for individuals keen to enhance their expertise in contract administration and commercial management within the construction sector. You will collaborate closely with project teams, gaining practical experience and playing an integral part in project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and administer contracts through all project phases, from tender to completion.
- Assist in analyzing tender documents and support tender submission preparations, including interpreting contract stipulations.
- Track project progression, changes, and commercial outcomes to ensure contractual compliance.
- Keep thorough records of contract obligations, variations, and potential commercial issues.
- Support preparation of variation orders, progress payment claims, and extension of time requests.
- Help organize and maintain systems for tracking variations and claims, ensuring documentation accuracy and prompt submission.
- Evaluate finalized works and audit progress claims relative to contractual terms.
- Assist with subcontract agreement preparations and monitor subcontractor payments and adjustments.
- Participate in project and site meetings, providing contractual and commercial support.
- Help identify contractual risks and aid in preventing disputes.
- Maintain precise documentation related to contracts, claims, approvals, and communications.
- Collaborate with project managers, quantity surveyors, clients, and subcontractors for effective contract execution.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Project Management, or related fields.
- Between one and three years of experience in contract administration, quantity surveying, or similar construction roles.
- Knowledge of construction contract principles and contract management processes.
- Familiarity with variations, claims, and contract procedures is advantageous.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings, project specifications, and tender documentation.
- A proactive learner with a responsible approach to work.
- Strong written and spoken communication abilities.
- Capability to handle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines within a collaborative environment.
