About the Role
This position is offered on behalf of a partner organization based in Canada, which will manage application processes and subsequent hiring procedures. The Content Strategist Lead plays an essential role in crafting comprehensive digital experiences by establishing effective content strategies, governance protocols, and forward-looking content architectures.
The focus lies in converting complex information systems into organized, scalable, and user-friendly digital experiences. The role involves leading detailed content audits, streamlining content, and providing strategic guidance across a variety of digital platforms and brand portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop content strategies for various marketing websites targeting B2B, B2C, and D2C audiences that align with business goals and brand positioning.
- Execute thorough content audits across multiple digital properties to identify gaps, overlaps, and areas for improvement.
- Design content models, taxonomies, and governance frameworks in partnership with UX, design, development, and marketing teams.
- Analyze and map current content to content types, components, page layouts, and requirements for future platforms.
- Implement content governance processes that include tone guidelines, review cycles, and quality controls.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to acquire, validate, and structure technical and specialized content.
- Ensure content compliance with regulatory, legal, and industry standards, particularly within regulated environments.
- Recommend strategies for content migration, retirement, and development of new assets.
- Perform assessments related to SEO and emerging Generative Engine Optimization to prepare content for AI-enhanced search capabilities.
- Evaluate content structure, metadata, and semantic clarity to enhance discoverability for traditional and AI-driven search engines.
- Provide strategic documentation and insights to steer future content creation and digital platform advancements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in content strategy, ideally within extensive, multi-brand or multi-site digital ecosystems.
- Demonstrated skills in constructing content models, defining content types, establishing taxonomies, and creating governance frameworks for content management systems.
- Deep understanding of SEO principles and cutting-edge AI search optimization methods, including semantic content and language model-based discovery.
- Experience working with regulated, technical, or highly structured content domains.
- Excellent facilitation, stakeholder communication, and documentation capabilities.
- Proven ability to independently lead projects under tight deadlines and in dynamic environments.
- Strong collaboration experience with UX, design, engineering, marketing, and business stakeholders.
- Familiarity with tools such as Miro, Excel, Jira, Confluence, PowerPoint, Claude, and AI platforms like ChatGPT.
- Advanced proficiency in English.
- Consulting or agency background is advantageous.
- Experience in sectors including healthcare, nutrition, life sciences, or consumer products is preferred.
