Job description

About Canton Foundation

The Canton Foundation aims to advance the Global Synchronizer within the Canton Network, supporting its governance and enabling atomic transactions across independent blockchains without sacrificing privacy and control. The Foundation ensures transparency and member participation in decision-making by operators known as Super Validators, promoting a trustworthy and equitable service for the network.

Role Overview

We seek a Content & Research Lead to spearhead our content initiatives. This newly created position involves crafting and managing the Foundation’s content strategy from the ground up, helping shape the organization’s growth, collaboration, and talent acquisition. The individual will identify key stories, research complex subjects, translate technical and organizational developments into clear communications, and maintain a regular publishing schedule.

Key Duties

  • Develop and oversee the Foundation’s content strategy, editorial calendar, and publishing rhythm.
  • Manage all content on the Foundation’s website and blog, including ecosystem updates, research articles, announcements, and executive communications.
  • Collaborate with leadership, experts, and ecosystem participants to uncover content possibilities and guide them through research, drafting, review, and publication.
  • Explain intricate technical, governance, blockchain, and institutional finance topics with clarity and credibility.
  • Conduct interviews with various stakeholders such as members, developers, Super Validators, and committees.
  • Continuously update and audit existing website content to remove outdated or unclear information and address gaps.
  • Create editorial pipelines aligned with governance events, network activity, partnerships, and growth initiatives.
  • Coordinate with designers, developers, and external agencies to support website and content enhancements.
  • Support executive materials, speeches, and priority communications.
  • Implement SEO best practices, metadata management, internal linking, accessibility, and content performance tracking.
  • Utilize analytics and audience insights to guide content priorities and improvements.
  • Ensure that materials reflect the Foundation’s neutral stance and distinguish Foundation activities from independent network participant decisions.

Candidate Profile

  • Exceptional writing, editing, researching, and interviewing abilities.
  • Aptitude to quickly understand complex or technical subjects and communicate them accurately and simply.
  • Initiative to identify opportunities and produce content independently without relying heavily on direction.
  • Comfort with building processes and content programs from scratch.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple drafts, deadlines, and stakeholders.
  • Confident working directly with executives, technical staff, legal teams, and external collaborators.
  • Ability to balance speed, accuracy, and stakeholder input in content production.
  • Experience in routine CMS publishing and website content upkeep.
  • Data literacy, using analytics and feedback to direct content efforts.
  • Enjoy working autonomously while maintaining momentum and quality standards.

Preferred Background

  • Experience creating content in blockchain, finance, institutional technology, open source, governance, or other complex fields.
  • Proven success managing organizational websites, blogs, or editorial programs.
  • Skilled in research-based content creation for diverse audiences including executives, institutions, and communities.
  • Proficient interviewing skills to transform expert insights into clear documents.
  • Familiarity with startup, nonprofit, foundation, or fast-paced organizational environments.
  • Knowledge of CMS platforms, SEO, website analytics, content audits, and editorial workflows.
  • Experience overseeing designers, developers, agencies, or freelancers.
  • A portfolio showcasing well-researched and credible writing across formats.

Support and Benefits

  • Competitive pay package.
  • Flexible time off policy.
  • Provision of company equipment.
  • Access to learning and development initiatives.
  • Opportunity to influence the Foundation’s public voice and content presence significantly.
  • Direct access to leadership and experts within the Canton ecosystem.
