About Terrain
Terrain is a technology investment firm and creative partner dedicated to ambitious founders. We collaborate closely with entrepreneurs to craft their narratives, brand identities, and creative expressions. As we inaugurate our New York headquarters and broaden our events, programs, and content initiatives, we are seeking a leader to oversee production across these efforts.
Role Overview
The Content & Events Production Lead will transform concepts into completed experiences and high-quality content. Responsibilities include managing all details such as timelines, budgets, vendor coordination, shoots, editing, and social media distribution. This role requires a versatile individual equally adept at orchestrating events, handling production schedules, and producing compelling content that resonates with the audience.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end production of Terrain's content, events, and programs, including the Invitational basketball tournament, video projects, portfolio engagement, and new content formats.
- Develop production strategies, timelines, budgets, and run-of-show documents; coordinate venues, vendors, contracts, logistics, and communicate with guests.
- Create photo, video, and social media content related to Terrain's initiatives, portfolio, and perspectives.
- Manage content briefs, production shoots, editing cycles, approvals, asset delivery, and final publishing.
- Convert live events and ideas into content tailored for Terrain’s social media channels.
- Establish and maintain organized systems to keep projects transparent and on schedule.
- Design repeatable production workflows to support the growth of Terrain’s programs and audience.
Candidate Profile
- 3 to 6 years of professional experience in events, content creation, social media, branding, media, or experiential production.
- Proven record of delivering polished outputs within small teams that expect high-quality results with a distinct perspective.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a proactive mindset; adept at building systems, anticipating challenges, and ensuring tasks are completed.
- In-depth understanding of social platforms, content formats, and production workflows, with a focus on creating engaging and relevant content.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to stay composed during changes or unforeseen issues.
- Confident collaborating with a diverse array of stakeholders including founders, designers, investors, creators, vendors, and operators.
- Experience leveraging modern tools such as AI, automation, and project management software to enhance productivity.
Preferred Backgrounds
- Experience in creative agencies or production studios.
- Background in media or content production.
- Work in cultural institutions, galleries, hospitality, or event production.
- Roles in startup operations or chief-of-staff capacities.
- Venture platform or program team experience.
- Commonality: working within small teams focused on high-quality, polished outputs with a clear point of view.
Role Details
This full-time position is based in Terrain’s New York office. You will collaborate closely with partners and creative collaborators, with full ownership of turning visions into completed deliverables. The team is intentionally small, allowing significant individual impact, and the role may expand as Terrain’s programs and presence grow. The position offers competitive pay, benefits, and occasional travel opportunities.
