Job description
About the Role
True Culture designs cultural travel experiences that connect people with destinations through heritage, local traditions, food, music, stories, and genuine human connection. The team is hiring a confident and imaginative Content Creator, Field Reporter & Brand Presenter to help communicate powerful stories about Africa, culture, heritage, and travel.
This opportunity is a strong match for someone with a background in, or a keen interest in, journalism, communications, media, presenting, digital content creation, or cultural storytelling. A large social media following is not required. What matters most is strong confidence, curiosity, clear communication, good editorial judgment, and the ability to bring stories to life on camera.
What You Will Do
You will research, shape, and present engaging content that highlights cultural experiences, destinations, local perspectives, and travel narratives. The role can involve on-camera presenting, interviewing people, capturing field observations, recording voiceovers, supporting short video production, and converting stories into social posts, blog content, newsletters, and brand materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Appear on camera and present content for True Culture Travel
- Explore and develop story angles related to culture, heritage, travel, and local experiences
- Produce short-form content suited to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and similar platforms
- Carry out interviews, vox pops, and field-based storytelling
- Gather real-time insights from tours, locations, events, and communities
- Record voiceovers and assist with simple script writing
- Draft or support captions, blog posts, newsletters, and brand storytelling content
- Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to plan and deliver content
- Make sure all content remains respectful, accurate, engaging, and culturally sensitive
Ideal Candidate Profile
The right person should feel comfortable speaking to camera, be a capable writer or communicator, and have a natural instinct for storytelling. You should enjoy speaking with people, working in the field, and identifying compelling moments or narratives.
Strong interest in Africa, culture, heritage, travel, and meaningful storytelling is important, as is a professional attitude, reliability, deadline awareness, and familiarity with social media trends and digital content formats. Respect for communities, customs, and traditions is essential, along with enthusiasm for helping a growing international travel brand expand its voice.
Experience and Education
Prior experience in journalism, communications, media, presenting, tourism, documentary-style content, or digital storytelling would be an advantage. A degree in Communications, Journalism, Media, Cultural Studies, or a related discipline is useful, although equivalent hands-on experience may also be considered.
Location and Work Conditions
This position is based in Ghana, with preference for candidates located in or near Accra, since some assignments will involve shoots at cultural sites, events, hotels, and travel experiences. Travel costs for shoot days will be covered by the company.
Compensation
This is a paid role with a monthly salary that will be negotiated based on experience, skills, availability, and overall fit.
Application Notes
Applicants are expected to share relevant samples or links that demonstrate writing, video, media, presenting, or content creation experience.
