Content Creator

Position Overview

The Content Creator's primary responsibility is to produce engaging and high-caliber digital content that highlights Layton Sports Cards and Layton Gaming across various online platforms. This role involves crafting both short and long-form video materials, social media posts, and promotional visuals focused on live breaks, featured products, events, and the brand's overall experience.

The successful candidate will be imaginative, lively, and confident on camera, possessing deep knowledge of social media dynamics, sports, gaming, and collecting culture. This role is vital for enhancing brand recognition, increasing engagement, and supporting marketing and sales efforts.

Key Duties

• Develop short-form videos tailored for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
• Contribute to producing longer videos for YouTube and other digital outlets when required.
• Document in-store activities such as live breaks, product displays, special events, and customer interactions.
• Create innovative content concepts that are in tune with trending topics and brand messaging.
• Appear on camera to represent the brand during video content, promotions, and social posts.
• Effectively communicate product details, new releases, and insights related to the hobby with an engaging style.
• Inject personality and genuineness into the Layton brand's visual presence.
• Collaborate closely with the Social Media Coordinator, Video Editor, and Marketing team to ensure synergy in content creation.
• Align all content with promotional campaigns and product launch strategies.
• Maintain brand consistency in tone and standards across all outputs.
• Stay informed on the latest social media trends, viral video formats, and platform changes.
• Provide input for planning content calendars, campaigns, and creative directions.
• Identify moments and opportunities within sports, gaming releases, and collectible trends to maximize content relevance.
• Support content asset management and organization.
• Assist live-streaming teams with behind-the-scenes coverage and promotional materials.
• Participate in community events, trade nights, and special activations to capture compelling content.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of social media platforms and short video content trends.
• Comfortable and natural presence on camera to engage audiences.
• Creative approach capable of ideating fresh and original content.
• Strong communication skills combined with effective storytelling ability.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, content-heavy environment.
• Basic proficiency in video recording and editing using smartphones or cameras.
• Genuine interest in sports, gaming, or collectible communities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience producing content for brands, social media channels, or personal platforms.
• Familiar with sports cards, trading card games (TCGs), or gaming culture.
• Knowledge of video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or CapCut.
• Understanding of live-streaming or live-commerce settings.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move throughout the store to record varied content.
• Capable of standing for long durations during filming or events.
• Can lift items weighing up to 25 pounds related to product handling.
