Specsavers is looking for a qualified Contact Lens Optician to join its Basingstoke team. The position offers a competitive salary of £40,000, with the exact package depending on experience.

This role sits at the heart of the customer experience. You will help deliver contact lens fitting and aftercare services to a high professional standard, supporting customers with the right lenses and guidance while contributing to sales, profitability, and long-term loyalty.

Key responsibilities

• Provide contact lens fitting and aftercare in line with company procedures and professional standards.
• Respond to customer queries and offer advice on contact lens choices.
• Make sure customers fully understand the lens options available for their prescription.
• Advise on spectacle dispensing choices, including any current promotional offers.
• Manage appointment schedules efficiently and keep waiting times to a minimum.
• Teach patients how to insert and remove contact lenses when needed.

Candidate profile

You should already have experience working in an optician setting and hold a valid GOC number. The ideal candidate will be confident putting customers at ease, enjoy working as part of a team, and stay current with developments in the profession.
