Job description

About the role

TRA is looking for a Consultant Quant to join its Auckland team. This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys research, wants to build on existing experience, and is looking for a supportive environment that values learning and development. The agency combines behavioural science, data, and marketing thinking to help solve practical problems for organisations across New Zealand, Australia, and other markets.

At TRA, the day-to-day culture is collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded. The team is made up of curious people who enjoy exploring the reasons behind the numbers and asking deeper questions about human behaviour. The business is also highly recognised in the insights space, but its focus is on how work is done: with creativity, teamwork, and genuine curiosity.

What this role involves

  • Carrying out research work with increasing ownership and variety.
  • Working with data to identify meaningful patterns and insights.
  • Turning research findings into clear, understandable recommendations.
  • Contributing to projects that have real impact for clients across different industries.
  • Working closely with a supportive team in a collaborative agency setting.

What you need

  • About 1 to 2 years of experience in research, preferably in an agency environment.
  • A degree in statistics, marketing, psychology, economics, or a closely related field.
  • Comfort and confidence working with quantitative data.
  • The ability to recognise important trends and patterns.
  • Strong communication skills for explaining insights clearly.
  • Natural curiosity about people and the way they think, decide, and behave.

What you can expect

  • Early responsibility, with work that genuinely matters.
  • Ongoing learning through the organisation's academy program.
  • A friendly and collaborative team culture.
  • Engaging projects across a range of industries.
  • Flexibility, team activities, and a positive workplace environment.
  • A competitive salary and benefits package.
