Job description

Role Overview

As a Consultant supporting Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) in technology, you will assist Managers and Senior Managers by handling small to medium engagements and provide daily operational support on these projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed analysis of target company data to assess technology aspects including costs, products, systems, and IT contracts.
  • Simplify and communicate these findings to team members, emphasizing the impact of technology on business strategy, operations, and valuation.
  • Gain expertise in IT benchmarking and qualitative information to guide clients on typical IT functions.
  • Assist in client communications, including calls and meetings, and contribute content for IT reports and deliverables.
  • Support technology-related integration, separation (carve outs), and optimization initiatives such as synergy analyses.
  • Help define target operating models, draft transitional service agreements, develop detailed plans, and support their execution.
  • Collaborate with Integration & Separation teams to achieve IT workstream goals and support client workshops and meetings.
  • Assist in identifying or reviewing IT synergies within larger teams.
  • Engage with senior client stakeholders and internal partners including KPMG Partners and Directors.
  • Provide support to senior colleagues when not engaged in projects through preparation of proposal materials and development of team initiatives.

Educational Qualifications

MBA or Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from a recognized institute, preferably with a major in Technology.

Experience and Skills

  • Between 1 to 5 years of professional experience.
  • Familiarity with implementation of IT processes, technologies, best practices, and frameworks, including areas such as Application Support & Maintenance, Network & Data Center operations, Software Development Life Cycle, Service Management, Security, Disaster Recovery, and Cloud deployment models (e.g., Infrastructure-as-a-Service).
  • Experience with Software Asset Management and Compliance, Infrastructure Optimization such as consolidation and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Capability in defining Service Levels, Agreements, and IT performance metrics.
  • Knowledge or certifications in ITIL service management and support, CMM SEI, and/or CoBiT standards.
  • Understanding of enterprise business applications like ERP and CRM.
  • Experience providing technology assessments and diligences in M&A contexts.
