Job Overview

KPMG India's Accounting Advisory Services team is seeking a Consultant to contribute technical accounting advisory and transaction support. The role involves handling smaller projects independently and supporting larger ones under guidance. Key duties include assisting with regulatory filings for domestic and cross-border transactions, offering conversion services between U.S. GAAP and IFRS, and supporting mergers, acquisitions, financing structures, and ESG reporting efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage small-scale assignments solo or support bigger projects reporting to senior managers.
  • Provide accounting advisory and research assistance related to new standards and transactions across international teams and clients.
  • Assist with US SEC filings related to spinoffs, IPOs, debt issues, and acquisitions.
  • Deliver conversion services between U.S. GAAP and IFRS for U.S. and foreign companies.
  • Support accounting and reporting related to mergers, divestitures, capital raises, instruments, revenue recognition, and leases.
  • Engage in ESG evaluation and reporting, including adherence to multiple frameworks such as SEC climate rules, TCFD, SASB, and GRI. Help with ESG readiness, regulatory assessments, and buy-side due diligence.
  • Prepare and deliver accounting whitepapers.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Professional certification as CA, ACCA, or CPA.
  • Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in financial audit, advisory, or financial reporting/consolidation with notable firms or large organizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
  • Knowledge or exposure to ESG and sustainability reporting is advantageous.
  • Strong personal initiative and commitment to quality and ethics under deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, ESG frameworks with effective technical research skills.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with demonstrated learning agility.
  • Team-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of independent work while inspiring colleagues.
  • Adaptability to varying project types, work hours, locations, and environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
