Job description
About the Company
Phaidon International began in London in 2004 with a small team of seven people and has since grown into one of the fastest-expanding recruitment consultancies. The company is built around specialist recruitment teams that focus on defined niches and geographic markets, helping consultants develop deep market knowledge and deliver long-term value to clients and candidates.
Role Overview
As a Recruitment Consultant, you will join a specialist sub-team within one of the company’s brands during the interview process. The role is centred on building your own professional network, developing lasting relationships, and becoming a trusted market specialist while handling the full recruitment cycle.
Business Development
- Reach out proactively to prospective clients by phone, email, and messaging tools to create new relationships, broaden your network, and secure fresh business.
- Lead conversations around service agreements and negotiate terms with the main decision-makers.
- Support and manage existing client relationships, keeping them informed regularly as searches progress.
- Assess and qualify hiring requirements so you can clearly understand the position, business goals, and experience needed.
Candidate Sourcing
- Identify and approach strong talent through direct sourcing and headhunting across mid-level, senior, and executive roles within your assigned niche and region.
- Build connections with passive candidates who are not actively job hunting.
- Speak with both active and passive candidates by phone to develop rapport, gauge market trends, and understand career goals.
- Use phone, email, and messaging outreach consistently to maintain a healthy and active talent pipeline.
Process Management
- Shortlist and present fitting candidates to clients.
- Coordinate interviews from start to finish and manage feedback flow between both sides.
- Handle offer discussions and contract negotiations with candidates.
- Stay in touch after placements to help support long-term success and fit.
Requirements
- Strong English skills at business level are essential; German is not mandatory but would be an advantage.
- A completed bachelor’s or master’s degree, or a comparable officially recognised qualification, is required.
- You should be highly self-driven, eager to learn, and motivated to grow in a new position.
- A goal-oriented attitude, persistence, and a strong commercial mindset are important for success in this role.
Benefits and Perks
- Fixed salary plus uncapped commission, giving you unlimited earning potential.
- Extensive benefits including 28 days of leave, one additional day off for your birthday, flexible working arrangements, and discounted Urban Sports Club memberships.
- Motivating rewards and team activities such as quarterly lunch events at leading Berlin restaurants, informal Thursday gatherings, and prizes that can include a Rolex or an all-expenses-paid holiday; top performers travelled to the Bahamas last year.
- Early finish on Fridays.
Additional Information
This position is based in Berlin and follows an onsite working model. The salary is described as a competitive base pay with uncapped commission, but no fixed numeric amount is provided. The role is full-time.
