Role Overview
This full-time, permanent opportunity is for a dependable labourer in the Sudbury, Ontario area. The role is hands-on and includes general site and plant support, handling materials, and operating bagging equipment to fill, weigh, seal, and arrange concrete and aggregate bags.
What You’ll Do
- Keep the plant tidy by clearing waste, debris, and other discarded materials, along with other general plant-related tasks.
- Use bagging equipment, forklifts, power tools, and similar machinery in a safe manner.
- Produce concrete and aggregate bags by filling, weighing, sealing, and organizing them.
- Check product quality and escalate any defects or inconsistencies.
- Make sure products are labelled and packed correctly.
- Follow all safety rules, procedures, and site requirements at all times.
- Notify the supervisor right away if you notice damage or any operational issue in the plant.
- Carry out physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, crouching, climbing, crawling, repetitive reaching, and standing for long periods.
- Work outside in changing weather, including poor weather conditions.
- Be available for extended shifts, including evenings, when operations require it.
- Follow internal, client, and regulated health and safety policies, procedures, and laws, including proper PPE use.
- Take on other related duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid G-class driver’s licence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift operator certification.
- Previous experience in the concrete and/or aggregate sector.
- Strong focus on safety and teamwork.
- High school diploma or an equivalent credential.
Skills and Abilities
- Comfort using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment needed for the job.
- Capacity to handle heavy physical work and strenuous tasks.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to a clean, safe workplace.
- Good time management when juggling several active tasks.
- Ability to work productively with limited supervision.
- Clear communication with supervisors, coworkers, and clients.

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay rate is $28.00 to $29.00. The package also includes extended health, dental, and life insurance, a company pension, an Employee & Family Assistance Program, company events, and ongoing training plus career development.
Additional Information
This job is covered by a collective agreement. The wage range shown reflects base pay under the applicable agreement, and the exact placement within that range depends on experience, qualifications, and union provisions. Benefits and other incentives are provided separately.
