Role Overview

We are seeking a Compliance Manager to oversee and coordinate all compliance, security, legal interfacing, and documentation activities. This position requires collaboration with engineering, operations, sales, customer success teams, external partners, and legal counsel to ensure that all company and client compliance requirements are tracked, managed, and fulfilled. The role demands exceptional project management, clear communication, technical understanding, and proactive completion of compliance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage Blue Voice's compliance roadmap by maintaining up-to-date policies, documentation, evidence, deadlines, and remediation actions.
• Organize both internal and external audits, assessments, and compliance reviews effectively.
• Monitor and track relevant security, privacy, contractual, and operational standards and requirements.
• Maintain a centralized compliance system cataloging responsibilities, evidence, risks, and pending actions.
• Identify compliance gaps and collaborate with internal teams to implement corrective measures.
• Provide leadership updates and reports on compliance priorities and risk status.
• Translate compliance and security requirements into actionable tasks for engineering and infrastructure teams, including access control, authentication, encryption, logging, monitoring, data retention, vulnerability management, and incident response procedures.
• Coordinate with external vendors such as DevOps and others for security and compliance-related infrastructure tasks.
• Oversee completion and documentation of technical remediation efforts.
• Participate in product and infrastructure discussions to proactively identify compliance challenges and create scalable processes supporting company growth.
• Handle customer interactions related to security documentation, questionnaires, due diligence, and compliance inquiries, ensuring accurate, reviewed responses are available.
• Maintain comprehensive libraries of approved policies, diagrams, and supporting materials to assist sales and customer success teams during contract negotiations and renewals.
• Collaborate with legal counsel on compliance, privacy, contracts, and records matters, including formal information requests and sensitive disclosures.
• Prepare and maintain company security and operational policies, coordinate employee trainings, access reviews, internal certifications, vendor risk assessments, and incident response readiness.
• Foster awareness and adherence to compliance policies and procedures throughout the organization while balancing efficiency with regulatory requirements.

• Develop a centralized, accessible compliance roadmap and documentation repository.
• Assign clear ownership and maintain tracking systems for compliance tasks.
• Establish consistent and effective response processes for external inquiries.
• Alleviate direct compliance workload from founding and engineering teams.
• Enhance collaboration among technical teams, external consultants, legal advisors, and leadership.
• Improve response quality, speed, and accuracy regarding compliance matters.
• Ensure internal teams clearly understand their compliance-related responsibilities.

Qualifications

• At least three years' experience in roles involving compliance, security, risk management, auditing, privacy, or legal operations.
• Proven ability to manage compliance projects, review processes, and evidence collection.
• Exceptional organizational skills and project management capabilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with engineering, infrastructure, legal teams, vendors, executives, and client-facing groups.
• Basic knowledge of cloud infrastructure, software platforms, cybersecurity practices, and data privacy principles.
• Excellent written communication with experience preparing policies, formal responses, and customer documentation.
• Exercising sound judgment when dealing with sensitive or confidential data.
• Self-motivated to independently handle multiple priorities and deadlines.

Preferred Experience

• Background in technology, software development, government, or regulated service sectors.
• Experience supporting public safety, government entities, or other highly regulated clients.
• Understanding of cloud security concepts including identity access management, encryption methods, logging and monitoring systems, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Exposure to audit processes and coordination with external consultants and legal professionals.
• Handling customer security reviews, compliance requirements, and records requests.
• Relevant certifications in compliance, security, auditing, privacy, or project management are advantageous.
