Role overview
WSP in Aotearoa New Zealand is looking for a Building Compliance Consultant (IQP) to join its Property team in Auckland. In this position, you will help manage the day-to-day delivery of Building Warrant of Fitness (BWOF) and building compliance services for key clients, mainly in the Auckland region, while also working with the wider national Property team when needed.
The role involves coordinating BWOF and compliance audit programmes, contributing to the ongoing improvement of compliance systems and processes, and offering technical support to project teams. You may also assist with smaller compliance projects. This position offers flexibility, independence, and the chance to work across a varied property portfolio within an established national team.

What you will do
- Manage the routine delivery of BWOF and broader building compliance services for clients.
- Coordinate BWOF and audit schedules and help maintain compliance management systems.
- Support the improvement of compliance processes and internal workflows.
- Provide technical assistance to project teams.
- Contribute to the delivery of smaller-scale compliance projects as required.
- Work collaboratively with the national Property team and key stakeholders.
What we are looking for
- A relevant tertiary or professional qualification.
- IQP registration, or the ability and willingness to work toward registration, is preferred.
- Practical experience in BWOF and building compliance services.
- Working knowledge of the Building Act and BWOF compliance obligations.
- Strong understanding of the Building Act 2004 and the compliance requirements tied to BWOF delivery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence using Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with Microsoft Project or similar tools is an advantage.
- Consulting experience is helpful but not mandatory.
