Role Overview
We are seeking a Finance Expert with expertise in model risk, compliance, and payments for a contract position. This role is fully remote and offers competitive hourly compensation ranging between $70 and $91.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations of model inventories, classification tiers, validation methods, ongoing monitoring, governance, and control structures.
- Perform detailed analyses of card authorization and settlements, chargebacks, ACH, wire reconciliations, and associated payment operations.
- Assess fraud prevention controls, anti-money laundering (AML) and sanctions protocols, escalation procedures, and operational risk factors.
- Identify gaps in controls, examine unsupported assumptions, detect weak evidence, and note incomplete documentation.
- Compose clear, well-founded rationales linking observations to risk, company policy, and operational impact.
- Review and adjust analytical outputs to ensure adherence to professional standards in model risk and compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Between 6 to 12 years of relevant experience for practitioner roles; 10 to 16 years for senior reviewer positions.
- Proven background in model risk management, model validation, compliance, payments, fraud detection, AML, sanctions, or related financial control areas.
- Hands-on knowledge of one or more payment infrastructure systems and their operational risks.
- Strong expertise in governance, documentation, testing, monitoring, and issue remediation processes.
- Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to deliver precise and auditable risk assessments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience overseeing, approving, or challenging analytical work, especially relevant for senior reviewer candidates.
